Changing service providers

Hi Skunks, I am just curious. Given that Airtel,YU and Orange have been cheaper than Safaricom for eons, why aren't we moving to their networks enmasse? Is it because we don't like saving pennies? So, I'm doing a poll. Two questions; why are you still on Safaricom? What would it take to lure you from Safaricom? For myself its simple..my employer foots my phone bill. I could care less. If it weren't for that I'd probably be on airtel. Cheers.

save for the wallet conscious safaricom simply works and their ads full of sweeping landscapes don't hurt either. I also think their network is superior and customer care actually know what they are talking bout and actually sort me out whether on twitter or email. Most people have more than 1 SIM card, so migrating from any network would be silly - Like me am on Airtel (90% of my mobile time) and Safcon+Yu (10% of my mobile time) so there isn't any migration to be done :-) ./Ok3ch On Fri, Aug 19, 2011 at 12:24 AM, Mark Mwangi <mwangy@gmail.com> wrote:

All I would tell you is to try to migrate to any other network. I once tried migrating to the then Zain, then to Yu and was back to Safaricom in 2 months. That was two years ago though, but I am still in no mood for another round.

I concur on the dual sim scenario. The only thing that would have me hop from one network to the other would be data. The best provider near my home wins. That distinction currently belongs to Safaricom but Orange is putting on a good challenge. Now if only they would focus on consistency.. I dont really care, but Safaricom is loyal to my needs regardless of the prices. Airtel frustrated me with their data, same to Orange, same to YU. The better option for my Internet is the local Wifi while at home, on the move -Safaricom, at Work - Orange and Access Kenya. Now I keep Safaricom for voice, some data, Mpesa. My world is complete. Why should I worry about what the other telco's are offering? -- On Thu, Aug 18, 2011 at 6:31 PM, Samuel Mbugua <samuel.mbugua@gmail.com>wrote:

I agree with @peter osotsi, Safaricom can be more costly than the others but their data service is excellent... On 8/20/11, Bernard Mwagiru <bmwagiru@gmail.com> wrote:

Two questions; why are you still on Safaricom?
Because I have their SIM card and I am very happy with them generally. I have been with them since they stopped charging 100,000 for those Sony Ericsson booths!
What would it take to lure you from Safaricom?
If you find a way to make them close shop.
Mobile phones are cheap -- very cheap, and SIM cards are almost free. Call rates are almost uniform, if you know how to choose. I don't see any possibility of anyone in their right minds getting lured, even by offering them FREE calls, they will still keep 2 (or more) SIM cards. In fact, if you offer them FREE calls, they will be very cautious "not to get caught" by "the catch" (if any). What I think: YU and AIRTEL are on their decline path, while ORANGE has not quite found their footing in the Voice/Data business. Safaricom found their footing long time ago. That is why noone is raising a finger when they say they are the "Better Option". There are options, but everyone wants to stay with the "Better". -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler.
