Dead iPhone due to lack of charge..

I have just been souved a dead iPhone (3GS) that the previous owner purports to have died due to lack of charging -- apparently he lost USB cable (and decided to move on to the androids) I am determined to try and revive it -- So my question is - has anyone ever experienced such a situation ?? Does the iPhone just lose charge, die and completely lose its 0s and 1s never to wake up again ?

I had a situation once when I thought my iPhone was completely dead and it was in that state for two to three days - only to discover it was stuck at recovery mode. Try leave it on power for several hours and then try exit recovery mode - press home button 5 sec then without releasing press power button for 10 sec, then release home button while power is still pressed for between 15-30 sec - Maybe, just maybe (if its recovery mode issue) it will come back to life - I tried this several times before it breathed again. ./Ok3ch On Wed, Aug 17, 2011 at 12:16 AM, ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com> wrote:
