Currently the price of a nexus 4 on a google play/store is _usd 266 or something about there, for its unavailability it has gone up to usd600 if you check on Amazon or ebay making its price same as an Iphone 4s or 5 on a good deal

Only if you can't wait. Just place an order on Google market and wait for 6 weeks. That's what I did and patiently waiting for it. The $600 on ebay are second hand phones, someone ordered it from Google turned around and is selling it almost twice on ebay. I remember when the new VW beetle came out around 2002, they were also selling around twice on ebay. Till VW was able to much the demand with supply.
