Wordpress releases Django, wait WTF?
As Kenyans continue to build their own CMS, Worpress has released version 3.1 and named it Django. The world meanwhile has decided to remain calm and not get confused by the naming. @Dennis, Wordpress is a general purpose CMS. If you thought of a CMS as an automobile, wordpress would be a nissan matatu. If some creative Kenyans want to build an environmentally friendly hand cart to carry cabbages around in their organic farms let it be. My point is, it is sad to see this forum being used to bash innovation. Web developers face many content management challenges that require customized solutions that general purpose CMS'es fail to address. David. In my view, Wordpress is one of the best CMS' ever made... and the growth from just a blogging platform to a full CMS is a nice one to watch. Wordpress in written in very simple structures and its theme frameworks are easy to work with. You can easily turn wordpress into anything and its more secure than most CMS systems. I did projects like http://kikwete2010.co.tz and http://shebaresorts.com on wordpress and I wouldnt go otherwise if I had a choice. David.
