I think I&M are on a Visa deal gateway while Jambopay is something else? Though I've not gone into details, I'm starting to get concerned that most payment gateway developers are not working on "credit type service" but on " debit type service". Which to me seems that kenyans are going to be denied credit facilities on payments, which is as good as buying cash. If this is the case, we really have not achieved much then. Credit is important and runs economies, credit ratings will help develop other systems for eg larger purchases. For a merchant account with I & M, it will be interesting to know whether they place " risk " to merchants and what rates do they peg the transactions to? 3-5% is quite high, ( you might as well do some online high risk porn business in the nevada desert at such rates! ) I also think we finally will have online stores that must have legit companies to do business with, so for users purchasing via Visa ( and gateway via I & M ), the transaction will be secure. I think it is only mpesa types of services etc that are being exploited by online but non-existent entities. Lets see what happens, early days and info with details is lacking at the moment .. Me thots :-)

They have not given any figures yet. I think it varies from business to business and there are many factors they have to take into consideration among other things your projected volume of business, type of business and what you are selling. If you have an e-commerce site go to them ...they are very helpful they will give you all the information you need. On Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 3:55 PM, aki <aki275@googlemail.com> wrote:
