Update:
The problem was resolved by formatting the machine with NetApp Storage and recreating the volumes. Client had to call in NetApp vendor support.

You just lost a chance to learn something new. Anyway, if you used the same partitioning, then the most likely reason of your original problem is that NetApp wasn't mounted properly. That assume nothing was done on the NetApp lun Muriithi
