Mpesa paybill business number - data problems

Dear great people, I am currently developing a system that allows customers to make payments for items through mpesa using the safaricom paybill system. Works pretty well extracting the data from the excel sheet safcom normally provides and updating the accounts. However, my challenge is that I want to eliminate that human intervention where one has to import the excel from mpesa database and then upload to the ERp system we are developing.. I know an API would be the solution but of course Safcom wont give you access to database so no way to get the data update seamlessly. Any one with such an experience and do you have some kind or recommendations basically to assure the client on data integrity. regards Oliver

There is another way out that safcom is not giving you but can, before i yap on something that might have been privileged(though beneficial to all in the list doing something similar) Please call me *721804390. If its workable and unprivileged , you can share with the list. #! /usr/bin/hope -w #$file: angel.mine script use strict; #Keep Going # become s good child my $pid = fork(); print $pid,"\n"; while(1) { sleep(never); On Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 4:02 PM, Oliver Ndegwa <olie.ndegwa@gmail.com>wrote:

Hello Ndegwa. Have Safaricom do a dump for you in a csv format and you'll be good to go.

Hi Clement, Problem is I am trying to eliminate a chance where a user has to get access to raw data to update the DB. There are chances of manipulation especially because there is money involved. Right now we are updating from a csv but there are still doubts on data integrity. There is an option I got yesterday. I am trying it out today and will pass the knowledge to the list. Looks like a viable option.. Will keep you posted. cheers regards On Wed, Jul 28, 2010 at 8:28 AM, Clement Ongera <cnongera@gmail.com> wrote:

Hello Ndewga. Please do share the knowledge else if I hear of something then I'll post it too. -- Many Thanks. Regards, Clement Ongera.

Talk to safaricom, they will give you a SIM card that can have the transactions realtime, just the way the M-PESA Agends have a phone. then you can talk to me i have an SMS application that can decode the message into the receipt no, datetime, Clients name, the account number and the amount, it then saves this into a database realtime....
