I have a similar cable which refused to talk to Romraider, dont know whether its was the cable or my laptop or the romraider itself, or even the car I used it on, but its somewhere in the house doing nothing... I wasted about $300 buying ELM327 from ebay, amazon and alibaba and still nothing worked. I finally bought this device <http://www.diagnostic-world.com/pages/Toyota_iCarsoft_i905_Multi_System_Diagnostic_Tool_SRS_ABS_Engine_etc__189125-z=563729&p=71203.cfm> which worked fine for my Toyota and have had some success with '98, 2000, 2002, 2006 models of Toyota Alex On Thu, Jul 9, 2015 at 2:18 PM, Peter Karunyu via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

Am not sure what you mean by combination, but the device I bought "Toyota iCarsoft i905" can test toyota's made in US, UK and Asia[Japan] as well as Isuzu and Lexus models from the same markets. It comes with ODB2 cable that will fit on your ODB2 port under the dash board. At that point you should be able to read error codes and clear them if the part has been fixed. thanks Alex On Thu, Jul 9, 2015 at 2:53 PM, Joseph Maina <mainasoft00@gmail.com> wrote:

@Joseph, when I was researching similar matters, i found that there were two paths: 1. Tactrix openport 2.0 + Romraider + Windows Laptop 2. A bluetooth OBD scan tool + Torque app (android) + android device Neither of the two paths are necessarily cheap. The openport costs about $180, a highly rated bluetooth scan tool costs $100. If you are going to be tuning your ECU, you will need romraider and ecuflash, which are said to work best with the openport If you just want to log info and show it in nice dials, then the second path might be cheapers Sources: http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.t... http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Bluetooth_Adapters On Thu, Jul 9, 2015 at 2:58 PM, Kisakye Alex <kisakye@gmail.com> wrote:

I *may* have an old 2011 scantool USB obd2 elm 327 one - I had loaned out. I currently use this bluetooth one with torque: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IAGNNG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_... indeed scantool adapters are rated pretty highly by torque users. http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Bluetooth_Adapters On 01:16, Fri, Jul 10, 2015 Steve Muchai via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
