Debian (or Linux-based) network printer manager

Hello good people. Have a small network deployment running Ubuntu desktop PCs and a RHEL-based firewall (gateway). I am looking for an application that can monitor (keep count) of jobs sent to a network printer in the same subnet. Any pointers are appreciated Regards, Mugo

@Mugo Try using cups (common unix printing system) print manager http://www.debianadmin.com/setup-cups-common-unix-printing-system-server-and... http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/network.html http://www.hlug.org/presentations/cups/printing.html Sangura Sitati twitter: @sangurasitati overnova.net On Fri, Oct 15, 2010 at 1:07 PM, m mugo <mugo2of3@gmail.com> wrote:

@ Sitati, thanks a lot. Had heard of CUPS before but I was not fully aware about it's capabilities. Going to test it soon Regards, Mugo. On Fri, Oct 15, 2010 at 2:47 PM, sangura sitati <sangura.sitati@gmail.com>wrote:
