Skunks I needed an opinion from anyone who owns an x-trail . If I am to drive to and from Buruburu to town daily what average would we been looking at in terms of fuel. I got some estimates from an enthusiastic car salesman but I think he was pulling my Leg ( he claim 250 a day at current fuel prices) Will appreciate feedback Regards Kevin

How the heavens is such subject to discussion in the Skunkworks tech community? Next another person might ask is the estimates for bride price just to confirm if the in-laws were pulling his leg. --allay-- On Wed, Oct 19, 2011 at 1:50 PM, Kevin Omondi <kevin.ouma@gmail.com> wrote:

This is SKUNKPUNITY This implies that you use about 2litres of fuel daily. Buruburu is about 8km from town meaning the car does 8km per litre. It could be true. How about you just test and confirm. If he is gonna sell you the car assuming the avarage price is 1.3M, testing the theory of 250/- shouldnt be an issue Regards Jared Koyier On 19 October 2011 13:50, Kevin Omondi <kevin.ouma@gmail.com> wrote:

Why are we bashing Kevin? I have seen folks here discuss engines and bio-disel et al. I am also interested in knowing how an Xtrail would consume from Buruburu to Town. Kevin, Vehicle fuel consumption values are theoretical and as such you should not rely on what you are being told. Besides, measuring fuel consumption from Buru to town is nonsense if you wanted to know a vehicle's fuel consumption because there are no constants to refer to - like you say 250 daily - kwani unacontrol jams za huko?:-) Anyway, if you need to buy this X-Trail and the only worry you have so far is fuel consumption, then take the car on a spin. If you can, make sure the fuel level reads 0 (zero). Reset odometer to zero or take the reading. Put in 10 litres of fuel then take a drive along a highway with very minimal traffic. Make sure you do a smooth drive (driving techniques also contribute to the consumption) until the gauge reads zero again. Read the change on the odometer. Fuel consumption = No. of km/litres That will give you the average fuel consumption of the vehicle. The actual will depend on your driving skills, traffic snarls, etc, etc. Please M-Pesa consultancy charges to the number below! -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler. Off Topic... A Google Search would produce more than enough information? Simply Google 'Nissan X-Trail Consumption' and you will get relatively accurate data? Additionally, because a few people are interested in a particular subject that is off topic it does not make it a topic worth discussing... I needed an opinion from anyone who owns an x-trail . If I am to drive to and from Buruburu to town daily what average would we been looking at in terms of fuel. I got some estimates from an enthusiastic car salesman but I think he was pulling my Leg ( he claim 250 a day at current fuel prices)
Will appreciate feedback
Kevin,
Vehicle fuel consumption values are theoretical and as such you should not rely on what you are being told.
Fuel consumption = No. of km/litres
That will give you the average fuel consumption of the vehicle. The actual will depend on your driving skills, traffic snarls, etc, etc.
