#1.@Watson good point regarding doing away with those in the current government. But I dont support you voting for just anyone! That's just WRONG! We'll end up introducing and "fattening" another lucky man with no vision.Eating the National cake so they say. #2.I would support Olekina but like Wash. I don't know the guy.By 'know' I mean there's no publicly available info or track record for the guy... then they go ahead and place donate button - scares me [?]! Or probably he could be much known in the US than most of Kenya as his site suggests. #3. The site looks much like a copy from Obama's - the blue and the eagle-like logo is so American! Kenya needs a leader with a heart and passion for Kenya.Well... I might be wrong on Olekina. # All in all I don't have any bias against such an initiative. Come explain yourself to Kenyans in KENYA and if you prove yourself and qualify enough, you might have my vote. # Kenya needs a new crop of visionary leaders to shape its future. I'm particularly tired of leaders who even though in the current government still continue confusing 'ignorant' Kenyans that they would serve better once re-elected and in a future government. For sure we need a NEW leader come 2012.We have the votes so we have the key to the new political statement! If we have any Government crew in skunks, please serve now! Dont cheat us with tomorrow! Honestly Kenya politics these days leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth , am sure currently if my house girl , stands up for president i will vote for her , we need change , but some time its hard to define change ...is it new leaders? new constitution ? etc yeah kenya politics is a sore topic

- about a manifesto, I know several undergraduate students who can write a good and convincing manifesto for anything - secondly, you may be pro change, but the biggest change you need is to change the way guys outside Urban areas think and vote. As long as they think and vote as they have in the past, politicians will have a field day. Rem they are more in number, and politicians know how to exploit them. so your best bet is voter education for the masses

I agree with you guys. However from my findings am told that the guy is dong a lot of things with communities. irrigation projects, green houses, collecting rain water. He says that he wants to get some work done by example at grass root level before he comes in the light.. But like every one else would say, we know who he is, what he is up to and we identify ourselves with what he represents. He has done alot with maasai community and parts of rift valley, but Kenya is bigger than that.. So lets wait and see...He hapened to come to my office last week and definitely i shall pass your words to him. cheers Oliver On Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 8:27 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Looks much like what we may need in Kenya. A breath of fresh air. I see nothing wrong with donating to a worthy cause. If you believe in someone, what's wrong with helping him achieve what may be common good? For the minority of us in the middle class, we surely do not expect that to vote for someone he/she must give you 50 bob, or a kilo of sugar. Instead I would have no problem donating 100 bob to a good guy who represents what I believe in. Evans On Mon, Apr 26, 2010 at 11:27 AM, Oliver Ndegwa <olie.ndegwa@gmail.com>wrote:

@ Evans Good point !!! Giving a soc via mpesa or otherwise will not affect your life at all - the soc will be forgotten as soon as you turn the corner of that building or scroll down that page on ur computer - and you start worrying about other things... Ledama is using the Obama way to collect funds... and guys there were sending like 1 dollar to 3 dollars ... and he won !!!

Ive been tracking him for a while now, He has a track record. Unfortunately Kenyan politics is not in favour of good people. However, I do hope he can get in at least as an MP. We need more such Warning though. Track record is no sign of future performance in Kenyas Govt....we can cite many examples of "good" people gone bad. Wash, I met Ledama in 2005, he was yet to start talking politics and believe he's a good man. Actually we met in his manyatta in Narok, he's very ordinary and hearing what he has done for the Maa community, its one thing you want replicated for the whole nation. I think the press likes to talk about the rotten politicians because as they say, when Raila talks, newspapers sell, people watch TV. Unless we change the way our people in the countryside think, we'll have the whole scenario playing out until our grandchildren have grandchildren etc Imelda, mwambie asimame, maybe we can be lucky this time round. <?p3t3r~ On 4/24/10, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
