OT <Apple products form Apple store>

Hi Good people, I would like to buy Ipod shuffle, ipod touch and ipad from online Apple Store. Anyone with an experience / ever bought from this site http://store.apple.com please advise

You can buy the same products from 'apple stores' in kenya. I`ve seen one @nakumatt junction and also yaya centre.

Most Apple stores ship only to the country where you are purchasing the product and do not have international shipping. But the process is pretty straight forward if you have a credit card and a shipping address. I am not sure the Kenyan shops can be called "Apple Stores' but they do stock the items, but at a much higher price.

Yeah I live around those areas,I dont have contacts though and what Philip is saying is true they stock items at a higher price, probably the amount it would take you to pay for shipping costs and taxes etc

Mwaniki wa XYZ i think he help On 1 August 2011 15:52, Leonard Kore <leonardkore@gmail.com> wrote:

By the way how much does Ipad cost (Mac). Both and and two.

Recommended Steve Jobs retail price for the wi-fi model is - "Starting from $499" for the wi-fi+3G model the price is - "Starting from $629" And these are for the 16GB models. Who has ever bought them at these "low" prices? For some reason - across Africa, everybody is always tryin to sell us the 16GB models for $1000... While Apple sells the most expensive wi-fi+3G models at $829 !!!! <happy shopping>

These are the actual prices you will get if you buy from the Apple Store. There will be an additional sales tax of around 5 or 6 percent depending on the state where it is being shipped. Shipping is free. If you buy from Amazon.com, you may get a bargain on not paying the sales tax if it is being shopped to a state without physical presence of Amazon. There are a couple of those. Most of these items will also be shopped free by Amazon. If you buy from the UK, it is still the same but more expensive as their prices are in GBP. There is a VAT tax if around 20% which may be refundable if you are exiting the country with the item and all the paper work. Phillip is right, but slight addition, in the Amazon case sometimes you are actually buying from third party through Amazon so if you pick a source with a physical presence in the wrong state you will have to pay the sales tax. Now if you ship to some states without a physical presence again you might have to pay Use Tax. A physical presence can be anything physical not necessarily and office or store, it can even be a warehouse, data center etc. So you might find nothing listed in a particular state about a company yet it has physical presence there. Some of these purchase can be tricky ----- "Philip Musyoki" <pmusyoki@gmail.com> wrote:

By the time you ship the item from the States you will be shocked and know that 1000 usd was a bargain. Use a base of 30-35% of the cost to reach here and get it cleared. Transport from the states is costly!! On Fri, Aug 5, 2011 at 12:59 AM, Steve Obbayi <steve@sobbayi.com> wrote:
