Nokia or Microsoft? Thought they sold the phone business to Redmond? On Thu, Jan 9, 2014 at 2:10 PM, geoffrey gitagia <ggitagia@gmail.com> wrote:

Wow!... That looks really good!.. If only they had it released. On Jan 9, 2014 2:10 PM, "geoffrey gitagia" <ggitagia@gmail.com> wrote:

@Mark. That Nokia device may actually be released to give Nokia a hold of the emerging markets and to wad off the competition from the cheap droids. I even captured benchmark results in my blog earlier today. So even after we have dismissed the fact that Nokia devices and services segment is now under Microsoft we still think Nokia might still push through with it and phase out S40 based Asha Platform for low end. Remember Microsoft makes money out of Android so they wouldn't mind at all. Then the Nokia Android is evidently strictly in the low end. Nokia is making good progress in the mid to high end, while Windows Phone does a bad job at pricing and low end, thus you won't see a Windows Phone device below Kshs 15k, unless they redesign the OS to work with less resources in hardware.
