If it's a fairly new dish, just look around and point where the dishes of neighbours are pointing. Worked for me a few times. Regards, John K. On 28 April 2015 at 16:40, Peter Mugoh via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

It work honest. Just have someone monitor the signal strength in the house while you point it, once it's maxed out, tighten the bolts. It's like version 2.0 of how we used to point the analogue antenna looking for kcb back in the day. At least now you have a progress bar :) Regards, John K. Yes it would definately work. The hehe meant "how come I didn't think of that? It's the simplest, most obvious way. Just point it where the others are pointing!" On 29 April 2015 at 15:07, John K. <kamau.john@gmail.com> wrote:

if i may hijack this thread abit. Having a similar problem in that mine is not a DSTV dish but rather a normal aerial. The problem is that every time i get a "no signal" on my television. funny thing is sometimes when i scan for channels,i may get all the F2A channels and then they are saved, then they can be viewed, then after about 5min,suddenly all of them become no signal. This has been happening for sometime now.I wonder what could cause this.is it the aerial or my set top box? should i get a Yagi antenna or what? Any help is appreciated. Regards Cynthia

Download app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plaincode.clinometer&hl=en Use below to check the elevation: http://www.dishpointer.com/ After getting elevation degree from dishpointer, use clinometer app to point elevation. Elevation is always the harder part, if you get it right, azimuth is simple, just rotate your antenna towards the direction given on dishpointer.com On Fri, May 1, 2015 at 10:39 AM, Oliver Ndegwa via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
