Offtopic: 2012 the movie - is it about the 10th Planet Nibiru ?
The movie opens this weekend [I hope it opens in Kenya too].. The trailer only shows continental plates upheavals,meteorites crashing the earth and massive floods that even wash the himalayas,,,as humans try to rush into pre-built 'Noah's Arks' in stampede fashion. But the question is: What is causing these disasters ? Is it the approach of that tenth planet, {Planet X} which has been rumored by scientists in the past decades to be moving in a wide arc elliptical orbit as it goes round the sun and occasionally passes close to earth after many many millenia? Will they throw in 'little green men' or "ETs' as inhabitants of the Planet X - who have been rumored to have caused the start of intelligent life on earth and the extinction of dinosaurs by crack-pot scientists .... etcetra etcetra ? I hope they will throw in a bit of "aliens" ; apart from all the water...[?]
2012 is fueled by Nostradamus who prophesied about a catastrophic end to life as we know it. Whatever is in store - a massive cosmic collision, a global environmental disaster, an Armageddon-like religious showdown, or a more subtle transformation - many believe that 2012 will mark a major shift in the history of our planet. But what is there to substantiate such fears? The thing is Nostradamus prophesies were very accurate.This movie will join several before it: In the Will Smith movie “I Am Legend” the setting was 2012,Indiana Jones:Crystal skull theorized that the world would end if all the crystal skulls were not collected by that date by Nov 21 , 2012. 2012 Supernova about the death of the sun, creating a huge supernova. Death race about the beginning end of the end of the world economy. 2012 movies may focus on how ocean pollution, carbon saturation, and deforestation are part of a greater prophecy, or create the conditions necessary to fulfill it. @Chuks, aiii wacha watu waenjoy, low budget movies make good comedies. I remember once watching a low budget sci-fi movie with horrible aliens attacking some space station. There was much more laughter than suspense... Even when the aliens attacked, it was more funnier, I mean one really had to be blind not to see the creature crawling towards the actors and the expressions from the actors when attacked was rib-cracking laughter. Yesterday we were discussing when we first watched 24 the series,, how Jack Bauer had this smart phone that could pin point his exact location, even has he moves...
