For several years now I have been promising myself that I would release open source code. The truth is I never really did release anything. My excuse was always that it is not yet good enough. After several years of coding I now know that code will never be good enough to its creator. There is always that thing you did that you now want to do in a cooler way. So today I took some baby steps and release a small lean and clean jQuery plugin that takes a JS array and renders it according to a HTML based template. Here it is https://github.com/dnjuguna/leanprinter This really is a small piece of code which I hope represents a first step in a journey of many miles. Congrats David. No effort is ever too small. I am sure you will get someone else who is interested in a similar solution and they may also contribute to further develop the application. Way to go! Evans On Mon, Mar 5, 2012 at 5:49 PM, David Njuguna <dnjuguna@gmail.com> wrote:

@Mutugi, Please check out the example.html file. Assume you are writing an client side app in javascript and you are getting data using ajax. You would probably write loops to render data on the browser. With this script you can create a HTML template to define how you want the content displayed and simply write it out with one line of code $(CSS3_SELECTOR).leanPrinter(data); On Tue, Mar 6, 2012 at 2:17 PM, Timothy Mutugi <timothymutugi@gmail.com>wrote:

@Timothy, you are welcome. @Moses, and it feels great ;) @Anderson, the last one year I have written less code than usual but shared a lot more programming knowledge with my peers. So much that I am thinking it may be a good idea to create events where coders come together and share great little code snippets that they have created. Your thoughts? The fact is developers thrive in an open environment. Being open attracts others including from other fields. Networking for instance is an area that borrows heavily from developers- you try analyse millions of lines of log files and you'll quickly see how developer skills come in handy....great stuff....I should throw something in there too:-) Sent from my iPad On 7 Mar 2012, at 16:42, David Njuguna <dnjuguna@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks for the explanation David. Good work, Keep it up. Timo. On 3/6/12, David Njuguna <dnjuguna@gmail.com> wrote:
@Mutugi,
Please check out the example.html file.
Assume you are writing an client side app in javascript and you are getting data using ajax. You would probably write loops to render data on the browser. With this script you can create a HTML template to define how you want the content displayed and simply write it out with one line of code
$(CSS3_SELECTOR).leanPrinter(data);

Congratulations David...
...if possible, in plain simple words, please tell me what the script is supposed to do...you never know, it might be the solution to some of my problems:-)

@Evans, @Solomon, @Bernard, @Joe Thanks guys, I hope to release more stuff in future, but more importantly I would like to see more African developers contribute to FOSS.
