They had interviewed guys earlier in the week and were disappointed by the quality of guys they got so they asked for my help. If you are unhappy with their requirements, take it up with them. Personally, as a recruiter myself, I see no reason why people who are potential candidates complain about requirements set up by companies that wish to employ. It is their prerogative. They are the ones with the jobs and as flawed as their choice of words or criteria may seem, you still have to put your best foot forward and try to prove to them that you can do the job. Complaining about it won't get you the job. I have interviewed hundreds of applicants, and what we look for is professionalism, attitude and whether they can do the job. Many times I have hired people below the requirement simply because they showed that despite the lack of experience, they had potential and had the right mix to fit in with our corporate culture. So, instead of complaining and asking why the guy chose to use certain things in their criteria (which I believe recruiters should improve on), apply and give it your best shot. Show them why you are the right person for the job.
