A number of bikes are cross listed.

First things first.. Please identify with u'r inner biker.. What type of a biker are u.. Are u a street (R1), tourer (VMax), enduro(tenere/KTM) or full on dirt biker (Yamaha YZ)... This shall guide the type of bike you shall buy so that u dont end up regretting and selling it off soon. Please also identify where you shall be using the bike... just plain commuting, on & off biking etc etc...

the next issue is are u a beginner? This is crucial when buying u'r first bike. there is too small a bike (limits growing with the bike) and there is too large hence handling may be a big problem.

When buying a bike make sure it is in top form. Check the maintenance log, availability of parts and do thorough research on the bike that u may hv identified. Use websites such as www.bikez.com to check the specs and ratings of the bike you may be interested in. Please ensure the maintenance costs makes sense after urchasing the bike. We hv sen people purchase bikes cheaply and later cry from the purchasing of replacement parts.. e.g. some shocks can cost as much as +30,000, tyres +18,000 NEW!

Finally....Biking is a serious form of lifestyle. It doesn't come cheap & it shouldn't be taken lightly. A good & clean trouble free second hand +400cc will cost u at the range of 1,000 per cc (as indicated by a fellow skunker). Makes no sense buying a 400cc bike @ 200k then later maintenance costs shoot above its value.

Thats my 2 cents. Identify u'r inner biker then begin u'r search from there

Kind Regards,

Ephraim Muchemi

go to facebook and search for 'Kenya-Bikers-Club'.....and budget around 1K per 'CC' onwards....if you go to down james Gichuru road next to Sean garstins there's a motor yard selling bikes. There's also some at the yard as you climb up to get to valley arcade. Also check the noticeboards at Yaya, sarit and village market. I really dont see you getting a good road worthy 400 cc bike or more at less than 300K. also try
