Thanks a lot. I have Ubuntu 8.04. I gave up on using the USB dongles, however that knowledge might come in handy. I connect through my mobile phone. Is there a way to use that in Ubuntu? Phone model is Nokia N81.

Just an update with my YU experience:

So far so good. Seems like I spend about 60 bob a full day connected to net, surfing pages, chatting and downloading a couple of files around 5 MB. $afcom was around 150. Haven't got the Orange yet, but will do soon.

That said, you realise mobicos are supplying Windows drivers
(firmware) pre-loaded on the devices usb themselves. When plug it in
computer reads device as 'mass storage' media.
