Some of those "not genuine" phones do not meet safety requirements and so are harmful to the user.

So I think this IMEI implant is such a bad idea.

Besides, did I not hear something to the effect that the govt will compensate those who are affected? I don't know what compensate means in this context though, and I am not even sure this wasn't just a rumor.
