Not too many candidates yet :) So I'm throwing in a bounty of 10,000 Ksh for anyone who can find me a capable technical editor who will at least produce 5 articles. Cheers! Willem On Tue, Mar 8, 2011 at 19:54, Willem <gwillem@gmail.com> wrote:
Hello Skunkers,
I am looking for 1 or 2 persons who can write articles about web speed optimization (WPO), in relation with specific technologies such as MySQL, Wordpress, jQuery and others. Yes, it's very broad :) For the trial you will need a couple of days. Upon satisfaction of both parties, we can discuss the terms for prolongation (possibly several months). I don't necessarily require full time dedication so it could be a nice side job for you!
Initial task: Write an article (700 words) about one of the subjects below. Target audience are administrators, IT managers with modest skill level. The article should contain the most relevant suggestions for generic speed improvement. You don't need to invent new content, but you should find and assess existing knowledge and summarize that (with proper references where due). The article should be a coherent story that gives an overview of best optimization practices (speed wise) for the given technology. I will send you a sample article so you can derive the writing style and structure from that.
Requirements: * Smart guy/girl with humor * Not a hardcore coder but at least familiar with some of the technical subjects * Able to assess the quality of existing information (mostly on blogs, forums) * Able to write flawless and pleasant English * Able to work independently * Availability in the coming weeks
How to apply: Send me a mail with a) sample of your previous written technical work b) your rate (per article or per day). c) what subjects you'd like to write about & why d) when you'll be able to start I will reply within 2 days.
The company that will hire you, is byte.nl, a Dutch hosting provider. Upon completion, I will send you the enumeration by wire, paypal or any method of your preference.
Looking forward to hear from some bright people!
Regards, Willem de Groot (CTO Byte)
