Anyone know what the theoretical limit of what orange have is? EVDO that is, what throughputs are max?

Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] Orange Bundle vs SpeedThanks Joel, but i just got an email saying that if its unlimited then speed is capped to some very low value; whereas the other bundles are much faster and are comparable to safaricom's 3G
Jangita,
Speed does not change. It only has an upper limit that is 3.1MBytesps(Good
luck getting that unless you are in an EVDO area and are the only user
in the cell tower) however what makes the bundle slow sometimes is the
traffic in the cell tower in which you are. For example westlands,
parklands, CBD on all days except Sundays, Nairobi west and south c have
high number of users so expect an average of 128Kbytes. Reasonable
enough unless you are a heavy heavy user or have a hangover from broadband
abroad- that's a joke!. Worst case scenario you'll be able to get
32-64Kbytes per second. Workable considering where we are coming from in the
Kenya data market
Note that I insist on using bytes as a full word since a certain company
uses Bits where bytes would do much better.
I am in Karen and accessing the internet now; just put the weekly unlimited bundle and the speeds are like (and slightly slower than) zain's EDGE, anything i'm not doing correctly?
