Finally I managed and the process was so smooth I didn't notice it. This is what i did after failing to get any YU shop in town. I noted down the serial numbers of both simcards (I bought a yu line for this)
From my yu line i dialed *111# and got th yuMNP menu and followed the instructions Then on my saf number I sent the message port to 1501. That was on Saturday afternoon. Monday morning the YU number changed to safcom Number. No issues so far.
