I'm still sour over the "Black Friday" sham... I once ordered a 4G phone off Jumia, they delivered a 3G version with similar specs except for the network. Took almost a week for them to collect it despite multiple calls and emails. When I did get a refund, I put their daily digest emails in spam until Black Friday. Well put Patrick. I usually do a quick check of the vendor's rating and of similar purchases to check if it worth the risk.

As much as l would like to point a finger at Jumia, have also been a victim on eBay with substandard products. So my advise is check, the return policy on any online store before purchasing. In the case of eBay a full refund is possible as long as you are not happy same should apply locally to give us the confidence that you not losing out if the product turns out to be not at par. Did you write a review about the product you purchased from them?
While this thread is bound to create an unfair venting advantage to a few electronics retailers, techies who think they can create a better portal or the regular naysayer, it would be unfair to assume that Jumia will gladly deliver to you a substandard or low quality product just to make a sale.
Lets learn to review the products we purchase, good or bad, and eventually create an open feedback loop for quality control which can be used to question why the product is still listed for sale if it doesn't measure up.

Hi guys
Be careful when you buy goods online even on Jumia. You will find new counterfeit items there too. Yes they sell original products like the Samsung I'm using that I got there in 2015 but they sell fake too especially accessories like power banks, earphones, chargers etc. I ordered Sony earphones for 1000 only to receive counterfeit ones that you can get for sh 150 on Luthuli Avenue. I raised the alarm on twitter and many replied with how they have received fake stuff too including clothing. Jumia replied and told me I can return them for a refund but I had already got rid of them out of frustration. I would advice visiting original physical stores like Anisuma, Nakumat and Safaricom shops. Be careful.
