I am liking the comments here. but what can we do really. Its such a sad affair that our most important things like sports are controlled by careless, selfish and uncouth groups of people. We know from our primary school games that, we have guys who can do field events to match if not better than what we have seen in London this time. My 2 cents, I believe sports need to be run by management professionals not necessarily ex-Olympians. People who are accountable and whom we will take such responsibility with vigor to deliver. How this would happen am not sure but this needs to be taken as a serious business just like any other business. What do you think people. Winning in sports is first physiological , before you start running or kicking that ball.
The officials would have even proposed to have 1 month in Bristol , to maximize their allowances…..and some have been caught on camera with concubines ( not even wives).
If there is a place full of vultures, it’s the sports department….no one cares for volleyball that has little allowances, athletics and football they mess again again and again
N wonder I am in the campaign full time – Kicking the vultures hard

Patriotism does not pay the bills, money is the biggest motivator for our athletes, the more we put on the table, the better the quality of their performance.

t we have people who can single-handed kill a lion? There are lots of sports in which we can give a try and stop comfortably thinking athletics only.
Javelin is still athletics. Fields athletics
The recruitment of sportsmen, again, should not be limited to the disciplined uniformed forces, but to other constituencies, more specifically, the youth who are idling and wasting away. The yardstick should be extended by far and wide.

A lot of talent remain untapped. Like me for example.I can throw the hammer :) and shooting.
Lets tap Talent from Isinya to Isiolo, from Lamu to Langata, Kakuma to Kakamega, Embu to Eldoret, Mombasa to Moyale, Mumias to Murang'a
I also think, in my layman understanding, the payment of these heroes and heroines, should commensurate to the training and they undertake.
Finally, (this one I heard on radio) I don't understand the reason why Athletics Kenya allow foreigners to train in Kenyan soil for a month, yet Kenyans, read Harambee Stars, cannot train in countries such as Brazil or Spain for a month?
Sports tourism is not bad for us. We should actually tap into it. You can actually create a sports resort and tap foreign talent to bring the much lauded "foreign exchange".
My 2 cents
+6 = 8cents (pesa nane)
