Claire, I use Co-op Visa Debit to make purchases. I've used Equity one too. I experienced what Kiti mentioned with Co-op and I called them. It's working fine now. As for withdrawing money from Paypal to a bank account, that is not possible in Kenya yet, as far as I know. It is in some countries but Kenya is not one of them. But all is not lost (being dissed by Paypal). There can be a way around with Moneybookers or 2Checkout. On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 5:19 PM, Kiti Chigiri <kiti.chigiri@gmail.com>wrote:

On that note, could someone please update us on the following (since it seems like these banks keep on dishing out services and them withdrawing them without notice):
1. Can the Equity bank Debit card/ATM card be used for online purchases? 2. Can the Co-op bank Debit card/ATM card be used for online purchases?
I use my Co-op debit card all the time.About a month ago they "upgraded" the system, which resulted in all cards being denied. You may need to call the card centre for them to "enable: your card if you are still experiencing problems.
3. Which of the above (Equity & Coop) allow transfer of funds from
paypal to bank account?
Please answer the above if you are currently doing it and don't give us third party gossip!
The last time someone on this list told us that KCB debit/ATM cards can be used for internet purchases, I went and opened an account and was later told that the service had been disabled (please note that I am not talking about their prepaid cards, but the kawaida debit cards that have the Visa logo).
So please think very hard before you answer the above.
Claire.

Edward,
I can assist you. The guy can pay me at www.payoneer.com then I can withdraw the cash for you from an ATM here if you are in a rush, or if not, you can apply at the website for a debit card which you can accept payments from debit & credit cards. I use it all the time and the monthly charges are also very low. Go and checkout the website, but if you need help right away, I can assist you and you only pay the charges.

Hi,
Are there Kenyan banks which accept credit card payment? A fellow based in USA wants to pay me through credit card but my bankers are insisting on western union money transfer or moneygram.
