The issue seems to be the firmware support, as I have previously tried connecting a 500GB Transcend to an LG home theater but it was not being recognized. I haven't 'broken into' any Transcend yet so i'm not sure what make of HDD is inside. I use the same portable drive on this<http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN40C5000QFXZA>bila shida...it reads the entire 500gig NTFS partition without a problem.
