QB and other opcos where WCDMA is prevalent are shouting themselves hoarse for the same reason. LTE promises(as with every technology) to utilise the scant resource optimally and efficiently. After a certain point radio optimisation reaches its snap point: You cant continue splitting cells infinitely.
Most of the problems listed in another thread is a result.

Opcos are putting pressure on the regulator to expedite the migration of analogue to digital migration. The freed-up resources(the 700MHz band TV stations are currently using) will then offer a breather for both some 3G but mostly for 4G.

Actually, the main motivation for LTE is primarily voice.Techies want to off-load voice traffic to data traffic as SIP/VoIP,etc. Marketers use LTE data through-puts as an incentive to its early adoption(Like Sprint--->http://goo.gl/zyDuA).Either way, it'll offer relief for radio optimisation techies, hopefully.

On 4G yes.

The techies who tested HSPA+ at safcom's "launch" attained 38Mbps out of the theoretical 84Mbps. Perhaps there's something on the works to push to further.

@Ok3ch,

You did hear the other day that QB was testing 42Mbps speeds, right?

What I am wondering now is what speeds do people get on 4G? What is the highest threshold for 3G, knowing that the frequencies for running 4G are still being pocketed, much as QB is shouting itself hoarse for them??

Can someone get 100Mbps downloads on 3G as long as they have the equipment?

Let me ask Google... or Mwagiru :-)

Hehehe - 3.75G is for marketers - a nice way to say 3G better than the other's 3G :-) Hakuna 4G!

@Ok3ch,

If you round up 3.75G to the nearest something, you get 4G. Never mind the issue with frequencies :-)
