Whats wrong with using a CMS? Shall we re-invent the wheel just to be unique? There is no bigger picture because there is no need for a bigger picture! How about rolling out your own unique "free" email service - after all, gmail, yahoo, hotmail aren't unique anymore. I don't see your point. Please elaborate. these are only a few...point is i just dont see anything unique about them rather than being plain cms with pirated premium content, most of which anybody can get quite easily
