At this point am thinking why cant providers in Kenya get more innovative and start thinking out of the box. just out of the top of my head am thinking... as a provider why wouldnt I provide incentives for developers to team up or individually do something like develop a gaming ecosystem for example within their networks . this would be reason for international users to subscribe therefore driving up the numbers and that in turn can attract advertising and drive up the $$$ Opportunities are unlimited and just waiting for the pickings and what is not realized is that developers are the key and those are the people providers should be coaxing to make this stuff a reality rather than sticking to their traditional business models and charging an arm and a leg to provide connectivity. That article is not well researched!
<snip> The EastAfrican has established that the providers are swamped with excess capacity after signing 25-year contracts for the biggest bandwidth tiers of 155mbps -- which, according to those in the know, is unlikely to be used within the contract period. Indeed, all that the providers are likely to sell is about 30mbps, but someone has to pay for the surplus -- inevitably, this will be the consumer </snip>
This is out of ignorance.

Hi guys,
Are there any issues affecting the recently deployed fiber optic cables or fiber in general. Need the info for my thesis, any input will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
