Separation of diagrams in UML is quite a task if you have limited knowledge in object orientation. We find Use case a good way for high level information gathering. The rest of the detail depend on the level of modeling that u want to achieve. Some of these tools can be useful, Embarcadero RAD studio C++Builder JBuilder Embacadero Delphi Oj. i believe its being mainly used as a CASE tool for automatic code generation using things lie Poseidon and Rational Enterprise however, experience has been mixed -- for a large system a UML diagram can quickly become un-understandable -- and the automatic code generation isnt really solving problems in many cases.
