Thanks for the feedback, we had received some very disturbing quotations which generally implies a complex solution but its clearly the simplest and cost effective solutions do exist..

Unless they are in a meshed network - i would go for POE and instead
provide redundancy on the POE switch.

If its a meshed network - 12watts can be achieved through solar panel,
battery and inverter.
