Job, There are instances when you can stomach running on a shoe-string budget. I cannot be with data backups. It can never be with data backups. Even with a shoe-string budget, contingency comes first. In many organizations, IT Department is never taken seriously. In fact it never exists until there is an IT problem:) In any setup DATA is the most critical. I'd forego everything else but make sure the DATA is safe - whatever the budget.
