Have you tried reporting it to the police, an abstract will compel Safaricom to facillitate the process of tracing the thief. No guarantees though, this is just a suggestion.

On saturday my money in MPESA that was 6,834 just dissapeared when i called MPESA customer care they told me that there are conmen who do such with a word of promotion.the surprise is ,that i did not send money but just realized that my money in not there when i wanted to top up.So safaricom guys are not concerned,coz i just wanted to trace the culprit and they have all his details and phone number.they are telling me that,they can not do such job,just imagine ur bank telling u that they cant trace money LOST IN THE ACCOUNT.IM Disapointed.HOW CAN THEY ALOW CONMEN TO OPERATE THEIR MPESA SERVICES.
