Windows 8 is currently on RP. What I meant is, the move from CP to RP should have been an Upgrade, not a Reinstall.

Their FAQs: <http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/faq> (under "Upgrading"), and this blog post: <http://blogs.msdn.com/b/zxue/archive/2012/06/01/installing-windows-8-release-preview-with-upgrade-assistant.aspx> confirm this to be the case. Maybe these "previews" aren't meant for doing "real" work :) Joseph.
