I think thats the basic point......many of the MBA's out there are BSc. Comp Sci's and its true that Msc is more academically inclined since most universities r hunting for Msc in these field (no wonder the registrar's conclusion that there r no postgraduates).
They (university administration/management/senate) forget that they r the very reason we don't want to venture into occupations most likely to lead us into the classroom environments...since they r poorly paid and with full of job insecurity and a perception of low education quality/standards....

One of the contributing factors, could be that everyone is running for an MBA as a way of rising up the corporate ladder, an Msc is often viewed as leaning towards academia...
Personally i did an undergrad of IT and now pursuing an Msc.IT and i'm actually enjoying it... and i don't intend to follow academia unless circumstances dictate otherwise...

I don't necessarily believe that for one to hv a masters or doctorate in Comp Sci automatically qualifies (or brands) one to be a lecturer. I believe there are a good number of postgraduates in this field...
An interesting discussion i had this morning with one of the registrars in a public university presents a very dire and wanting situation in education in Computer Science. (Pure & applied) whose conclusion was pretty much that there just arent postgraduates in computer science in the country. It came as a shocker and since my background is in Engineering and IT, i am inclined to ask...
What is the status of manpower in the country in the discipline? how many people can qualify as lecturers, associate lecturers and professors in the science?
