I ran into the same woes a while back; I'm on the exact same platform as you. My error: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data. I googled that error, and from the responses just decided to avoid further hair loss by sticking to the buggy FireFox
