Kennedy,
No full fledged IMS deployments have been made here. However, there are bits and pieces of IMS that are coming up and are currently on trial by local operators. The fact that you haven't received replies to this could be due to company confidentiality and none disclosure agreements in place. A full IMS platform runs in 100s of million of euros.Hence, operators have chosen to adopt some function of IMS that make economic sense;function here doesn't necessarily mean a node/hardware. Several functions can run on the same box. This box could be an upgraded legacy/classic node, to fit into a 3GPP IMS architecture implementation. One thing is for sure, SIP will be a dominant protocol for mobile operators in the not so distant future.

Hi good people,

so how independent are they from the existing GSM/GPRS -are they
piggy-backing on these networks? And also if anyone has interacted
with a SIP deployed IPTV[ zuku peeps ua thoughts needed here] app. what was the streaming quality, type of
compression and bandwidth utilization? I'll be more than greatful! Its
kind of necessary. Most of you know what this line means
