I have had issues building apps which crush in CMake on Win 7 but do not on Win XP. The same app remains stable on both when built with vcpp 2010. I could give you a whole list of similar cases but like I sad I ain't comparing. Just saying Win XP is still valuable for me with some of the stuff I am doing.

Finally XP is still widely being used and as a Software Dev doing Native applications you cannot lock those guys out.
