@One, seems Orange is improving their new 21Mbps network (HSPA ) and am currently doing a stable 805KB/sec = close to 6.5Mbps!! and my computer is swallowing MBytes like as if its chewing bytes rather. :-))) Download time for 300Mbytes file = 7 Minutes!!
Go Orange Go!! I really wish they can stabilize at 1000KB/sec :-))
BTW, I like Safcom too and have not tried their HSPA network, will do soon. Thnks for sharing that info on Safcom.
Over and Out.

And just for the record to show what is possible on a 3g nework, am now recording download speeds of around 474KB/sec to the same ubuntu test download server on the uk. That 474KB/sec = 3.2Mbps! The network latencies are very stable, 0% packet losses and max latencies of 400ms. Youtube streaming is like playing back downloaded clips, no buffering at all.
If Orange is on skunks, can we please get 800KB/sec and more on the HSPA+ network ( 21Mpbs network ) ?
The best I've seen is Safaricom with the Huawei E1820 HSPA stick - clocks a max of 800KB/s or better on a good day.
This is a shot of the best I've seen:
