Are you running the fakesmsc program? (e.g. ./fakesmsc -m 1 "100 200 text www Hello world")
Since you said you are using Ubuntu it should be in "/usr/lib/kannel/test" otherwise you need to install it.

I am trying to retrieve sms sent from kannel fakesmsc on ubuntu jaunty jackalope.I am hoping to achieve that using php.Here is my kannel.conf
