@aki, I think the Injustice is not in the ISP's dragging their feet, everyone is waiting to see what the competitor will offer. so that once Sufferingcon announce to the public that hey!, were on the fiber, zaintel will shout, wait till you see what we have. I think its a problem of lacking strategy and waiting for a successful one to replicate. On 7/23/09, aki <aki275@googlemail.com> wrote:
my view : It's now 5 plus hours since seacom launched. Even packets travelling 44,000kms would have arrived eons ago. The packet from mombasa to nairobi is in danger of becoming a million years old fossil. I'm starting to put 2 and 2 together. Lets see, *gateway to the rest of the world is at mombasa* *while 10 metres from termination station, kenyan networks never changed.* Unbelieveable what I've comeup with. Okay, I give up on ever asking this question again. Poor Seacom : official launch, dodged pirates, bullets, sunk expensive cable etc and* ...........................................................nothing*.

I checked both edge services, none are on Seacom yet. Anyone checked safcom? Or for that matter has any ISP done the move. From a network world, this is a major disappointment. ( This is delayed network justice, how long does it take a packet to travel from mombasa to nairobi ).
