As others discuss whether we have a Linux Kernel, I would like to seek the opinion of the list on the usability of Linux. I have been looking forward to a day when Linux will be easy to use and not need knowledge of where configuration files are and drivers that were not "clean" enough to be included by default in the distribution.

So far, seems like most Linux distros have a different focus other than usability, Ubuntu of late has become a fan of forking stuff that the result ends up rhyming with forked, take the case of where they are said to have forked CouchDB to a point the fork became "unmaintainable"

However, there is a glimmer of light in that small but ever popular Ubuntu Fork known as Linux Mint, the chaps have even gone ahead and tried to make that Gnome 3 more usable by adding stuff that was taken away.

I had experience with a previous version and it was comparatively easy to install and its user interface was pleasant

In the process of initiating a move from Fedora to Linux Mint, and see whether the grass is really #00FF00 on that side
