Apple is ready to broadcast its first iPhone live stream of a concert event, debuting with the UK techno group Underworld playing at 9 p.m. from Oakland. AT&T has allegedly remained fairly quiet regarding the event, likely as a precaution to prevent network strain, according to NewTeeVee.

Apple's streaming protocol is designed to automatically detect available bandwidth. The video bitrate is then adjusted to match the network conditions, helping protect against interruption.

The concert is also accessible from an iPod touch or any broadband-connected computer with QuickTime. The stream is available through iphone.akamai.com and underworldlive.com.
