My point about Samsung was just a clue, and yes, I think it's only Samsung phones that have the feature. If your Samsung is not your choice, then point number 2 applies. Most insurance companies have a Domestic Policy package that can cover everything you own, and electronics live phones, cameras, etc are covered under "all risks". You need to figure out what that terminology stands for but it's what I always count on - If my phone fell and broke into pieces, fell into water and stopped working, got stolen - I get indemnified. The premium is actually quite minimal. Singling it out from among the household items covered, it looks like I pay about 800 to cover a phone worth 32,000.

Washington,as much as Samsung makes nice phones I might have my own
preferences, what then? Also what kind of rates are offered, and by who
for insuring said phone? is there anyone out there who's been
successful recovering a stolen/lost phone? And can we all agree that
there is a huge market for these phones given the low prices and easy
access...
