VAT certificates are being phased out. Your online PIN certificate contains all the tax obligations that relate to you. Therefore if your registering as a new taxpayer using the online system you should select the VAT obligation, however if you are an existing taxpayer your obligations will appear automatically. If you notice that the tax obligation is not appearing on the certificate, contact the nearest KRA office or send an email to controlroom@kra.go.ke with your PIN, REGISTERED NAME and a small mesaage requesting for the obligation to be added to your certificate.

I also have a problem with getting a VAT certificate through KRA ITMS.
