
Have tried to run this setup once before. If I recall well, with 2 PCs, the machine with the modem (PC1) has two active NICs, one physical (connected to PC2) and a virtual one (modem). Configure the physical NIC on PC1 as a bridge. Assign static IPs to both workstations; remember that in this setup, you have no DHCP server. Then set the IP of PC1 as the gateway of PC2.
