Where do I buy the converters and at how much? Do you have a photo of such a converter? On Wed, Jun 13, 2012 at 12:56 PM, maina <dmaishe@gmail.com> wrote:
You can get a converter, My GOTV uses my "normal" TV aerial(made in river rnd) and "normal" TV aerial cable which i have connected direct to GOTV decoder and FYI tht decoder uses those screwing connectors you are talking about.

@Joseph,
Where can I find details of the Panasonic Model and who is the local vendor? Any contacts? Why do you recommend the Panasonic one?
I went to DSTV yesterday evening and saw their STB, but I did not like it because the connectors require me to get cables different than the standard RF (is that the correct reference term?) cables I use with my TV. I found that the INPUT and OUTPUT ports of the device require a connector that screws onto the ports... now, I don't have such a connector and neither do I want to fabricate one. If someone knows where I can by factory prefab cables for use with their device, please let me know.
My house antenna connection is a std cable connected to a wall plug and goes into the TV. It not the screw type.

@David
The GoTV STB allows you to view the signet content. my layman view here ---> I believe that the STB is backward compatible and as of yet 'T' has not yet been shut down its running concurrently
with
'T2' Now NTV is viewable on T signet but not on T2 signet Currently, Citizen is not on either T signet or T2 signet

Wash,
As an early mover I burnt my fingers when @bangito et al decided to
move
from T to T2 without consultation. Now the main difference is compression which means they can fit twice as many channels.
Now comes the big question which provider? I dont know NTV Citizen etc pulled out of Signet and are meant to launch their own transmission co. They are still far from launching. This means you'll likely have 2 STBs doing the same thing. My compromise was getting DSTV till the landscape clears.
Donnow when tho.

As we progress into the Digital TV space, I am wondering which model/unit is the best (featureful) that I can get in the market.
The only company I see advertising aggressively is STARTIMES which
are
suggesting I buy their Chingchong DVB-T2.
I'd like advise from people who have trodden this path, the early adopters like @DavidKiania, on whicd device they recommend - available in the mkt.
I am curious about this Digital TV signal thing - my TV signal is already to clear that I wonder what difference the DVB-T2 would make in my life, bar for the govt's plan to switch of the Analogue signal.
