I like that! Any other skunks and skunkettes interested in being part of this launch party? Lets try and get the logistics and see if this is doable.

Have a great day!

Singh,

We can set the pace for SA and Egypt!

What we would need for the Release Party:

1. Debian Users
2. Debian users who can bake and theme a cake "debian squeeze"
3. Bring your bottle(s) - wine & spirits, beers, soda, water
4. Bring your laptops, netbooks - any number of blank CDs/DVDs you can
lay your hands on
5. Music - dancehall, locals, techno, oldschool, new school(if there's
such a thing)
6. A loud humorous skunkspokesperson - to be MC
7. Nyam Chom, Koroga, Sandwiches.... whatever anyone can contribute to get.

What we would do:

1. Burn CD/DVDs from a reliable downloaded ISO source
2. When some people start getting a buzz or there's that level of
noise indicating that people are socializing - then all the Debian
users cut the cake and someone(probably the eldest, debian user)
clicks on the Finish Installation button
3. Organize how the CDs/DVDs can be distributed throughout colleges
and universities - emphasis on getting the new user to install the
release(depending on the available hardware specs they have), use of
'different' internet browsers like iceweasel and word
processing/spreadsheet apps - openoffice, abiword etc..etc installing
wvdial and connecting their installations to the internet

and Voila! - first African country to get listed here
http://wiki.debian.org/ReleasePartySqueeze and have a successful
release party
