UPSes have specs of how long they need to sustain the prescribed load in the case of loss if power. The moment you begin to get less than the specified "backup" duration, then you know you need to start thinking of replacing the batteries, unless you decide to use the UPSes as surge protectors:-) Please remember that you need to put only the correct load on the UPS!
